About the Role

The Cyber Security Business Analyst is responsible for continually improving cyber security governance, risk, and compliance, architecture, and technical consulting services to major Australian Federal Government clients. This role involves developing cyber security policies and strategies and requires the ability to perform both business and technical analysis.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Perform business and technical analysis to support cyber security governance, risk, and compliance initiatives.
  • Develop and implement cyber security policies and strategies.
  • Identify and solve problems that may hinder E8 control delivery.
  • Translate enterprise IT environments, infrastructure, and Australian Federal Government cyber security policies into relevant, timely deliverables.
  • Work effectively in multi-vendor environments and package work requirements for various audiences.
  • Engage in communication, collaboration, and coordination with business units, security and design architectural groups, and ICT service providers.

Requirements and Experience

  • Australian citizen with an AGSVA security clearance (minimum baseline).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in agile project and program delivery within a government agency.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to self-manage time and deliver outcomes as part of a dynamic team.
  • Professional and polite demeanor committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Proven ability to deliver E8 ISM controls in programs, projects, or operational efforts.
  • Prior exposure to enterprise IT environments, including cloud-hosted services, and multi-vendor delivery is highly desirable.
  • Awareness of project management methodologies and/or experience in delivering outcomes as part of a project team is desirable.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Based in Canberra, or willingness to relocate or travel for the role.
