Job Description

The Heavy Machinery Specialist will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery, including loaders, excavators, bulldozers, and forklifts. You will work closely with our Foreman or General Foreman to receive daily assignments, instructions, and directions. Your primary duties will include:

  • Receiving and following directions from the Foreman or General Foreman;
  • Safely operating designated machinery and equipment;
  • Maintaining safety standards and adhering to all safety rules and procedures;
  • Performing routine checks to ensure all equipment is functioning properly before use;
  • Reporting equipment issues promptly to ensure equipment is always in good operating condition;
  • Documenting operations and keeping accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and any incidents;
  • Adapting to various duties and activities as directed by the Foreman or General Foreman;
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the equipment and the surrounding work area;
  • Participating in ongoing training and certifications as required to stay updated on safety protocols and equipment operation standards;
  • Assisting in site preparation and cleanup tasks before and after operations.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a US Secret or an Australian NV-1 clearance. You should have prior experience operating the relevant types of light and/or heavy machinery, typically at least 2-5 years, depending on the complexity of the equipment. Additionally, you should have basic knowledge of maintenance and troubleshooting for the equipment operated. Certification for specific equipment (such as forklift, frontend loader, or other heavy machinery) is also required.

Desired Qualifications

A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is highly desirable for operating larger vehicles such as buses and semi-trucks, depending on job requirements.

This is a contingent position based upon contract award and is expected to be onsite 100%.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this role is between $60,000 and $90,000, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
