- You will champion engineering excellence, foster individual growth, and ensure the team consistently delivers high-quality software with speed and quality.
- A proven track record of guiding software delivery and engineering teams through Lean and/or Agile methodologies.
- Deep understanding of modern software delivery practices and the entire software development lifecycle.
- Proven experience as a coach and mentor, adept at providing impactful guidance and enabling team members to deliver the right knowledge at the right time.
- High emotional intelligence and a true growth mindset, with strong interpersonal skills and self-awareness.
- Strong understanding of Xero's Engineering standards and practices, with the ability to coach teams to adhere to them.
- Engage and collaborate effectively with peers and teams across Xero to drive continuous improvement towards Xero's sustainably excellent engineering vision.
- Lead your team of engineers to successfully identify, scope, manage, and complete high-quality work that delivers measurable improvements to production systems in a timely manner.
- Build cross-team relationships for win-win outcomes and foster team growth through feedback, coaching, and opportunities for advancement.
- Analyze system health, make regular system health reviews, support engineers during incidents, and facilitate post-incident reviews.
- Maintain current knowledge of technologies used in the development of Xero's software applications.
- Build cross-team relationships and manage stakeholder expectations.
