About This Role

The Horticulture Apprentice will support the Open Spaces team and gain practical skills in parks and reserve maintenance to keep our open spaces well presented and maintained.

You will be based at our depot and have the opportunity of rotation in the areas of open spaces, parks and gardens, turf/sportsfield maintenance, greenkeeping, nursery, tree maintenance and bush regeneration.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A Certificate III in Horticulture qualification or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment

This is a unique opportunity to learn and grow with us. After completing your apprenticeship, you will have formal qualifications with four years of practical experience and ability to gain additional tickets such as Medium Rigid (MR) truck licence, forklift ticket, loader competency and more.

We are committed to ongoing training, guidance and support from workplace mentors while completing a nationally recognised qualification.
