We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate animal care professional to join our friendly, high-performing team. As a full-time animal care specialist, you will be part of a collaborative and supportive team, working alongside experienced professionals who are passionate about animal welfare and continued learning.
About Our Practice
We offer high-quality veterinary services alongside a modern, boutique cat boarding facility in Melbourne's inner east. We benefit from shared resources, peer support, and strong team culture across our three practices.
Our Clinic
Our clinic is equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical equipment, digital radiography, dental x-rays, in-house lab, and a strong focus on continuing education and high-level animal care.
The Role
We're looking for a motivated and capable animal care professional to join on a full-time basis. This role includes a mix of surgical, medical, hospital, and client care duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting veterinarians with routine exams and procedures
- Providing surgical and hospital nursing care, including anaesthetic monitoring
- Delivering pre- and post-operative patient care, as well as offering grief support to clients
- Administering medications and preparing treatments as required
- Managing the admission and discharge process for surgical and hospital patients
- Communicating treatment plans and updates to clients
- Performing blood collection, testing, and IV catheter placement
- Assisting with diagnostic imaging (x-rays and ultrasounds)
- Supporting dental care, including scale and polish and performing dental x-rays
- Contributing to day-to-day tasks to support our vets and team in providing the highest standard of animal care
Your Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for someone with: Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent
Minimum 2 years' experience in small animal practice preferredStrong clinical skills and confidence in all areas of general practiceExcellent communication, organisational and multitasking abilitiesTeam player with a friendly and positive attitudeGenuine love for animals and their peopleWhat We Offer
