Child and Youth Worker Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Child and Youth Worker to provide therapeutic interventions and counseling to children and young people affected by family violence.

This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those affected by family violence. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing supportive and non-judgmental services to children and young people in need.

  • Delivering trauma-informed counseling and group work to support children and young people in recovery from family violence
  • Supporting carers through advocacy and information sharing, ensuring they have access to the resources and support needed to care for their loved ones
  • Safety planning and crisis response to ensure the well-being of all individuals involved
  • Collaborating with local services to reduce the impact of family violence in the community
Requirements
  • Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or similar field
  • Experience working therapeutically with children and young people
  • Commitment to feminist practice and systems-informed approaches
  • Ability to manage complexity with empathy and cultural sensitivity
  • Openness to supervision, reflection, and ongoing learning
  • C Class driver's license, Working With Children Card, and police check (or willingness to obtain)
