We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to join our team as a Senior Excavation Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the Western Harbour Tunnel – Stage 2 project in Sydney.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing excavation activities to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery. This will involve planning materials, equipment, and systems for efficient excavation operations, maintaining accurate documentation, and upholding quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee excavation activities to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery
  • Assist in planning materials, equipment, and systems for efficient excavation operations
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold quality, safety, and environmental standards
  • Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders during planning and execution
  • Monitor budgets and schedules, including cost control and lookahead planning
  • Interpret excavation-specific design plans and geotechnical drawings
  • Support and guide early-career engineers through mentorship and knowledge-sharing
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in excavation or underground construction projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster inclusive team environments
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety and compliance
