We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled quantitative researcher to join our team at Monash University's Centre for Health Economics. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a PhD research project focused on evaluating the impact of preventative health policies on current and future health inequalities.
About the ProjectThe project will involve analyzing the effects of preventative health interventions on health inequalities using best practice in health inequalities measurement, modern econometric techniques, behavioural experiments, and modelling. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Dennis Petrie and Dr Gawain Heckley, and will be based at the Centre for Health Economics, Monash University.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement econometric models to evaluate the impact of preventative health policies on health inequalities
- Conduct behavioural experiments to assess the effectiveness of preventative health interventions
- Develop and apply health inequalities measurement tools
- Collaborate with researchers at Lund University, Sweden, to develop and implement a research project
To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have:
- A 4-year bachelor degree, honours degree or 2-year master's degree in economics, econometrics, statistics or a related quantitative discipline
- Demonstrated research experience and strong academic results
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
The successful candidate will receive a generous scholarship covering all tuition fees and a tax-free stipend at current value of up to AU$50,291 per annum. They will also have opportunities for domestic and international conference travel and for research visits to Lund University and other international partner institutions.
