About the Role

The Road Logistics Coordinator is a vital position within our organization, responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of goods via road freight. This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills to engage with trucking sub-contractors and secure competitive freight rates.

  • Manage road freight operations, including quoting and negotiating rates with sub-contractors.
  • Plan and execute both internal site and external road freight movements to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Evaluate and implement improvements to existing logistics processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Data Management

Ensure accurate data entry into relevant databases and management systems, maintaining organized and up-to-date records for contracts, transactions, inventory, and other operational data.

  • Develop and maintain rate systems to ensure accuracy in pricing and cost management.
  • Investigate and reconcile discrepancies to resolve any issues related to pricing and billing.

Stock Control

Monitor and manage inventory levels, forecasting demand to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained. Coordinate with suppliers and bulk operations to manage stock replenishment and minimize shortages.

  • Source and purchase materials from approved vendors.
  • Implement effective stock ordering procedures to meet customer demands.

Customer Service

Act as a primary point of contact for customers regarding grain orders, inquiries, and issues. Investigate and resolve customer issues efficiently, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Provide excellent customer service through effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless customer experience.
