Job Summary

Your role at our kitchen team involves providing leadership to ensure high quality products and service are provided to patients and customers.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise caregivers and maintain a high standard of service and cleanliness.
  • Develop a culture of service excellence, focusing on sustainable patient satisfaction and employee engagement.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Complete performance development reviews for caregivers under supervision.
  • Liaise with the administrative officer to manage caregiver rosters and annual leave calendars, maintaining effective service levels.
  • Support the executive chef in recruitment, induction, and ongoing training, including training material preparation and delivery.
  • Manage performance issues and escalate as required.
  • Support the executive chef and hotel services manager in leading the catering team through change management.
  • Interpret patient meal tray cards for meal service, ensuring appropriate meals for patients with allergies and therapeutic diet meal choices.
  • Participate in meal preparation, plating, and delivery.
  • Ensure consistent compliance with food safety, documentation, codes of practice, and legislative requirements.

You will have previous experience supervising in a catering environment, with the ability to assist in training programs, staff rostering, and leave planning. A sound knowledge of hygiene regulations and correct manual handling procedures is also essential.

As a supervisor, you will be able to prioritize tasks, make decisions, and guide the team. Your commitment to ongoing education and professional development, combined with well-developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, will help you succeed in this role.
