Job Overview

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the national Groundwater Modelling team, facilitating collaboration between state-based teams to deliver solutions for clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the virtual team across multiple offices, promoting effective communication and goal-oriented teamwork.
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans aligned with global priorities in conjunction with the Technical Discipline Manager and Hydrogeology Technical Directors.
  • Collaborate with state-based groundwater and surface water team leaders to drive client satisfaction and project success.
  • Contribute to a robust backlog of work through technical excellence, innovative problem-solving, and strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Engage with various SLR teams and sectors to execute multidisciplinary projects that meet client expectations.

We seek a motivated leader with expertise in groundwater management, strong interpersonal skills, and experience mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, prioritizing technical excellence, commercial acumen, and client satisfaction.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 7-20+ years of industry experience as a hydrogeologist, including consultancy experience.
  • An appropriate Engineering or Science tertiary qualification.
  • Strong technical background in numerical modelling, hydrogeological conceptualisation, groundwater impact assessment, and hydrogeological investigation.
  • Understanding of Australian groundwater legislation and guidelines related to resource development and infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivation, and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Experience managing and delivering large technical projects, particularly complex groundwater modelling projects.
  • Proven track record in building, nurturing, and maintaining ongoing client relationships.
  • Australian citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
