Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Mackay. As a Leading Hand, you will be responsible for overseeing the rebuild of heavy equipment components, including transmissions, torque converters, and final drives. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the rebuild of heavy equipment components, including transmissions, torque converters, and final drives
  • Lead a team of technicians in the workshop
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and on time
  • Collaborate with the Workshop Manager to achieve team goals and objectives
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a Leading Hand or similar role
  • Automotive or Engineering Trade Certificate with component rebuild experience on Caterpillar equipment preferred
  • Rebuild experience on one or more of the following: Caterpillar transmissions, torque converters, diffs, and final drives, wheel groups, hydraulic cylinders
  • Competent computer skills with experience using Caterpillar SIS preferred
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety measures in the workplace
  • Pre-employment medical, DAS, and valid Driver's Licence and workplace licenses
