Job Title: Legal Officer

This position plays a pivotal role in the provision of high-quality legal advice to support the statutory functions of the Office.

  • Provide independent, timely and accurate legal advice, guidance and support to staff involved in assessments, investigations, evaluations, reviews and prevention activities.
  • Responsible for preparing and assisting in the preparation of reports, including investigation reports and general reports.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Degree in law or eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in the Northern Territory.
  • Able to provide legal advice in relation to criminal law, public law and administrative law.
  • Ability to work under pressure and produce high quality written legal advice that is clear and easily understood.
