Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) is leading the way in Australia's energy transition. We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Victorian Planning & Connections department.

You will lead the end-to-end connection process for renewable energy, battery storage, and emerging technologies within the Victorian Transmission Network.

  • Navigate complex technical, regulatory, and commercial aspects in a dynamic environment.
  • Work closely with generation developers, NEM advisory, developers, investors, manufacturers, consultants, governments, and AEMO teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Your experience in managing multiple projects, analysing data, and using project management tools will be essential in this role.

This position will transfer to VicGrid around June 2025 and be part of a growing infrastructure development and delivery organisation, with a pipeline of work that extends beyond 2050.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain effective project plans, timelines, and budgets to achieve defined goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including developers, service providers, partners, government, and regulators.
  • Provide regular progress updates, chair project meetings, and offer strategic advice to management.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Recognised project management certification is highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of the energy sector, including generator grid connections and large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum three years' experience in project, program, or portfolio management within energy, engineering, construction, or telecommunications.
