Job Description

The Allied Health Assistant role involves providing support to clinicians in delivering quality, client-focused allied health services. This includes implementing individual and group interventions and/or therapy programs as delegated by treating Allied Health practitioners.

The position is responsible for a broad range of activities including direct clinical care, maintaining equipment and resources, and other administrative support functions to contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of services provided.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to clinicians in the delivery of quality, client-focused allied health services
  • Implementing individual and group interventions and/or therapy programs as delegated by treating Allied Health practitioners
  • Maintaining equipment and resources
  • Performing other administrative support functions
Requirements

Candidates must possess a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance, along with relevant experience working in a multidisciplinary allied health team. Key qualifications include:

  • Certificate III or Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant
  • Vaccination against seasonal Influenza (mandatory)
  • Vaccination against Covid-19 (recommended)
  • Previous experience in Allied Health Assistant role or working in a multidisciplinary allied health care team
  • Demonstrated experience in coordination and conducting therapeutic group-based activities
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision whilst under the direction of allied health professionals
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
