The Automation Specialist plays a vital role in designing, programming, and implementing robust automation systems that support manufacturing operations. This individual is responsible for ensuring production processes run efficiently, safely, and at the highest quality by driving continuous improvement through system upgrades, optimization, and integration of Industry 4.0 technologies.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, program, and support automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motion control, and SCADA systems.
- Develop and review electrical control schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and Bills of Material in compliance with industry standards.
- Lead or support automation projects from concept through installation, commissioning, and validation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally (production, maintenance, quality, IT, and customer teams) to ensure seamless system integration and high levels of collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation, manufacturing controls, or related field (10+ years).
This role requires strong knowledge of PLC programming, experience with HMI/SCADA systems, and proficiency in electrical design software. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with robotics, vision systems, sensors, drives, motion control, and pneumatic systems.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently and in cross-functional teams, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will also possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to apply lean/continuous improvement principles.
