The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Facility and Assets group, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the effective and efficient operation of facilities and assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs of facilities, including cabinetry, minor carpentry, general welding, painting, and landscaping.
  • Act as a Trades Assistant for licensed tradespersons, providing necessary support to ensure the efficient completion of specialized maintenance tasks.
  • Assist with grounds maintenance activities to maintain a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience in performing cabinetry repairs, minor carpentry, welding, painting, landscaping, and small plant and equipment maintenance.
  • The ability to diagnose and correct technical faults, modify routine procedures, and perform technical data analysis for improved maintenance operations.
  • Experience assisting with grounds maintenance, acting as a Trades Assistant, and contributing to small to medium technical projects.
  • An understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures, ensuring maintenance work adheres to safety and operational standards.
