Job Title: Project Director

Project Director Job Summary:

The project director will oversee the delivery of projects that transform risk for Mercer Super, focusing on implementing a risk management framework and establishing controls, policies, and compliance measures.

This role is critical to a regulator-mandated risk transformation programme where you will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle. It presents a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to risk transformation initiatives while enhancing project management skills in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans ensuring all tasks, timelines, and resource requirements are clearly defined and communicated to stakeholders.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to gather requirements, provide timely updates, and address concerns throughout the project lifecycle. Foster strong relationships to ensure project success and alignment with organisational goals.
  • Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery. Collaborate with the project team to develop effective mitigation strategies and contingency plans ensuring compliance with complex regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver regular and detailed status updates on project delivery highlighting progress, challenges, and next steps to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all project documentation is maintained accurately and aligns with the established project delivery framework facilitating transparency and accountability.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members fostering their development and enhancing the overall capability of the project team.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years' experience as a dedicated project manager or business analyst working on client projects will be considered.
  • At least 5 years within the superannuation industry insurance or banking experience would be considered.
  • Demonstrable skills in project management and delivery.
  • Excellent planning skills.
  • Excellent communication negotiation organisational and relationship skills.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and management skills.
  • Strong technical understanding of superannuation including defined benefit plans pensions and insurance.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite particularly MS Project.
  • Enjoy working closely with others energy enthusiasm and confidence.
