Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in a rewarding and challenging role. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our donor centre.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with donors, staff members, and external stakeholders.

You will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, while also contributing to the overall success of the organisation through your knowledge, skills, and experience.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will work closely with our generous donors to provide a safe and supportive environment for blood donation.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical oversight and guidance to other team members during the blood collection process.
  • Conducting routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests on donors.
  • Setting up machines and collections equipment, as well as inserting and removing needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets.
  • Managing adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistance.
  • Monitoring donors post-donation and assisting them to rebook for their next appointment.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent qualification.
  • A current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and afternoon shifts.
