Preserve the balance of our natural world with cutting-edge spatial technology. Our Mining Studies team seeks a Spatial Data Analyst in the WA Mining Hub in Pinjarra.
As a Spatial Data Analyst, you will manage critical spatial data that underpins our understanding and protection of diverse flora and fauna across our mining lease.
This role reports to the Mining Studies Manager. It offers a family-friendly Monday to Friday roster, including a paid leisure day off every 4 weeks. The position requires occasional travel to our mining locations and provides flexibility to work remotely 1-2 days per week, depending on individual needs.
- Validate, process, update, and reconcile incoming and outgoing spatial data.
- Ensure statutory compliance of spatial data and systems.
- Support users to access spatial data.
- Provide spatial data analysis, manipulation, and visualisation support to the mining studies team.
- Consult with internal and external data suppliers to ensure data availability and consistency with our spatial data standards.
- Maintain and create documentation related to our spatial data systems, including training materials, metadata, and workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Our ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, be proficient in spatial data management, and have excellent communication skills to provide exceptional customer service.
Required Skills and QualificationsA bachelor's degree in Spatial Sciences, Environmental Science, or a similar discipline is required. High-level experience with Esri's ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Pro is highly regarded.
Proficiency in Python programming language and database management are desirable skills. Experience with SQL will strengthen your ability to manage vast data repositories.
