Technical Design Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee all aspects of technical design for every collection, ensuring accuracy and quality.

The successful candidate will have 3+ years of experience in womenswear technical design, with strong knowledge of tech packs, grading, fit comments, and working across various womenswear categories. They will also possess a tertiary education in design, pattern making, and grading, as well as awareness of trends and ability to incorporate them into fit sessions.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, with attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook. They will also be able to prioritize workload with multiple deadlines, work effectively in a team environment, and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.

As a key member of the design team, the Technical Design Specialist will create tech packs, develop fit comment documents, and measure garments accurately to identify fit issues. They will participate in fit sessions, provide recommendations, and communicate comments and follow-ups to external partners.

In this role based in Melbourne, you will work closely with experienced designers and senior technicians to ensure product measurements and quality of construction and fit. You may also travel internationally as required to support global operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of all aspects of technical design for every collection

Requirements:

  • 3+ years minimum womenswear industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of Technical Design, including Tech Pack, grading, fit comment
  • Tertiary education in Design, Pattern making & Grading
  • Ability to anticipate construction problems & provide suitable solutions
  • Willingsness to Travel Internationally as required
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills
