Overview

The Creative Store Australia is recruiting a skilled ideas-first Creative Director to lead the creative department at a Melbourne-based, well-established independent agency. The role involves shaping campaigns, mentoring a small team, and driving bold, defining creative work across branding, strategy, social media, media buying, and integrated campaigns.

Base pay range

A$100,000.00/yr - A$120,000.00/yr

The Role

As Creative Director, you will:

  • Lead and inspire a creative team including art directors and external partners.
  • Collaborate across accounts, media, and digital to deliver integrated, high-impact campaigns.
  • Bring strong ideation skills, shaping innovative and effective creative outputs.
  • Mentor and develop younger team members, fostering a supportive and collaborative culture.
  • Contribute to business development by leveraging networks or proactively generating opportunities.
  • Take ownership of the role, influencing both creative direction and agency growth.

  • Proven agency experience and a portfolio of successful campaigns.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Business development mindset – well-connected or able to hustle.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and comfortable in a small agency environment.
  • Able to thrive in a flexible, collaborative culture without needing micromanagement.
