About the Role

Melbourne Integrative Genomics (MIG) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Coordinator to oversee the operational and administrative activities of MIG.

The successful candidate will work closely with the MIG Director and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth functioning of MIG, providing essential support to graduate students and staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Planning, promoting, and supporting events, managing general office operations, processing purchase orders and reimbursements, maintaining databases and the website, and overseeing internal and external communications.
  • Engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders across the University, leveraging strong networking and organisational skills to ensure the smooth functioning of MIG.
  • Providing support to MIG group leaders through management and decision making to ensure the implementation of strategic programs, events, and compliance with respect to finance and reporting.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated understanding of the operational aspects of research centres, in relation to working with faculty and university business service providers to bring about effective outcomes;
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate effectively with a range of stakeholders across all levels of the organisation;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Experience in a university or higher education administrative setting is highly desirable.
