Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Professional

The role involves maintaining a clean, safe and well-presented environment for students, staff, and visitors.

About the Role:

  • Perform minor building maintenance and repairs to ensure school facilities are in good condition.
  • Relocate school furniture and equipment as needed to optimize learning spaces.
  • Maintain lawns, gardens, and school surrounds using appropriate tools and machinery to create an aesthetically pleasing environment.
  • Blow, water blast, spray and upkeep hard surfaces and outdoor areas to prevent damage and ensure safety.
  • Daily collect rubbish and manage waste to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
  • Report maintenance issues, vandalism or damage promptly to prevent further complications.
  • Support safe work practices in line with school policies and WHS standards to protect staff and students.
  • Assist with grounds support across all school campuses when required to ensure a unified look and feel.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Adequate physical fitness to meet the demands of the role.
  • Experience using hand tools, green-keeping equipment, and small power tools to perform tasks efficiently.
  • A strong understanding of workplace health and safety principles to minimize risks and ensure compliance.
  • A proactive and reliable attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team to achieve common goals.
  • A current Working with Children Blue Card (or the ability to obtain one) to work with children and vulnerable individuals.
