Job Title: Assistant Principal Special Education

Young North Public School is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Principal Special Education to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of high-quality education programs for students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise staff in the planning and delivery of evidence-based learning and teaching programs for students with special needs.
  • Develop and implement differentiated personalized learning and support plans, Health Care and Behaviour Management Plans, and other relevant strategies to support student learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, school teams, and stakeholders to drive professional learning and improve student outcomes.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider school community to promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and empathy.
Requirements:
  • Approval to teach special education and/or experience working with students with Autism, intellectual disability, and challenging behaviors.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to drive strategic directions and work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to lead and manage the performance of individuals and teams to achieve high-quality student outcomes.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies.
