Medical Receptionist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced medical professional to fill a casual role with the potential to grow into a part-time position.

  • The ideal candidate will have 12 months of experience in a medical reception environment and be proficient in using Best Practice software.

A successful Medical Receptionist will possess strong communication skills, maintain patient confidentiality, and efficiently manage customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greeting patients, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, processing payments, and handling general enquiries.
  • Maintaining accurate records in the Best Practice database.
  • Handling cash transactions via TYRO, DVA, Workcover, and Medicare billing systems.
  • Conducting general housekeeping and upkeep duties in the reception area and doctor's consulting rooms.
About You

To be successful in this role, you should be an organized and efficient individual with excellent interpersonal skills. As a medical receptionist, you will work autonomously and effectively while maintaining high standards of customer service.

  • Minimum 12 months experience as a medical receptionist.
  • Familiarity with Best Practice software and payment processing systems.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality.

Casual / Part-time hourly rate under Fair Work, covered under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020 (Modern Award), dependent on your level of experience. Flexible working hours and days, including consideration of school hours if needed.
