Job Description

The role of Production Operations Coordinator is a key position within the manufacturing operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating production schedules to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing operations.

This involves developing detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity constraints. Analyzing production capabilities and constraints to ensure optimal utilization of machinery, labor, and materials is also a critical aspect of this role.

In addition to planning and coordinating production schedules, the Production Operations Coordinator will apply mechanical and industrial engineering principles to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.
  2. Analyze production capabilities and constraints to ensure optimal utilization of machinery, labor, and materials.
  3. Apply mechanical and industrial engineering principles to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
  4. Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
  5. Monitor production performance metrics and generate reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  6. Closely work with engineering, quality assurance, procurement, and logistics teams to align production plans with business goals.
  7. Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, equipment issues, and scheduling conflicts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or other highly related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in production planning or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
