Accessibility Specialist

About the Role
The Accessibility Adviser will work closely with students, staff, and external stakeholders to support inclusion and collaboration, maximizing retention, success, and employability. This role involves determining support requirements, developing individualized Learning Access Plans, and promoting inclusive practice and universal design principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet with students to understand their educational adjustment needs and develop support plans.
- Collaborate with staff to implement Learning Access Plans and promote inclusive practice.
- Develop and deliver group programs to enhance student success in higher education.
- Monitor compliance with equal opportunity legislation and provide high-quality support to students.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in health sciences, social work, disability, or a related field.
- Demonstrated capability to deliver high-quality support to individuals and analyze complex problems.
- Contemporary knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines related to equity, diversity, and disability.
- Strong organizational skills, including prioritizing tasks and working efficiently to deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and form positive working relationships.
