Light Vehicle Mechanic Role Overview

The successful applicant will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on mobile fleet and equipment, sourcing technical information from relevant reference manuals and computer-based systems, conducting technical inspections and job estimations, and providing technical guidance to staff and operations personnel.

This is a skilled trade position requiring a high level of technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mobile fleet and equipment
  • SOURCE TECHNICAL INFORMATION FROM RELEVANT REFERENCE MANUALS AND COMPUTER-BASED SYSTEMS
  • CONDUCT TECHNICAL INSPECTIONS AND JOB ESTIMATIONS
  • PROVIDE TECHNICAL GUIDANCE TO STAFF AND OPERATIONS PERSONNEL
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, applicants must possess a range of technical skills, including:

  • AUTOMOTIVE TRADE (LIGHT VEHICLE MECHANICAL) QUALIFICATION
  • POST-TRADE EXPERIENCE WORKING IN THE MINING OR HEAVY EARTH MOVING INDUSTRY
  • EXPERIENCE IN VEHICLE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS DESIRED
  • STRONG TECHNICAL SKILLS AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL
  • A COMMITMENT TO HEALTH AND SAFETY AT ALL TIMES
