Job Title: Occupational Therapist

An occupational therapist plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality service provision to individuals with various conditions. The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage occupational therapy services, monitor and evaluate treatment plans, and provide support and consultation to clients and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Roles:
    • Manage occupational therapy services for individuals with neurological and developmental conditions.
    • Evaluate and modify treatment plans to measure client progress and ensure effectiveness.
    • Provide occupational therapy input into comprehensive interdisciplinary assessments, treatments, and discharges.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Use appropriate methods of communication with clients and carers to maximize rehabilitation potential and understanding of the condition.
    • Communicate effectively and collaboratively with all health and social care sectors to ensure delivery of a coordinated service.
  • Research and Development:
    • Have an active role in the planning, development, coordination, and delivery of occupational therapy services to clients in line with national guidelines.

Required skills and qualifications include a Qualification in Occupational Therapy, registration with the relevant regulatory agency, and relevant postgraduate diploma in Neurological Rehabilitation. Experience or interest in Neurological rehabilitation is also desirable, along with emotional intelligence, resilience, flexibility, ability to prioritize, multi-task, and problem-solve, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, computer literacy, and written and oral presentation skills.
