
Regional Land Tenure Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Land Access Advisor to join our team and support clients across Western Australia in navigating land access complexities. As a key member of our advisory team, you will provide expert advice on land tenure, native title, and Aboriginal heritage matters, ensuring that our clients' projects are delivered on time and within budget.
About the RoleThis is a critical role in our organization, requiring a strong understanding of WA's complex land access framework. You will work closely with Traditional Owners, government agencies, industry proponents, and legal representatives to build capacity and deliver beneficial outcomes for clients and regional communities.
The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) and Future Acts processes, including ILUAs. You will also possess excellent negotiation skills, with experience delivering agreements and managing statutory approvals. A working knowledge of WA tenure systems and legislation, including the Land Administration Act 1997 and the Mining Act 1978, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Future Acts processes under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth), including notifications, objections, and negotiations for land access and development
- Provide strategic advice to PBCs, pastoralists, and industry on land access issues, with a focus on tenure, native title, cultural heritage, and agreement-making
- Negotiate Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUAs) and other land access arrangements on behalf of proponents and or native title holders
- Advise on competing and multiple land uses in the context of native title, mining, infrastructure, pastoral, and conservation activities

- Strong understanding of WA's land access framework and relevant legislation
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
