Aluminium Fabricator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Aluminium Fabricator to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have minimum 2 years of fabrication experience, strong aluminium welding technical skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves aluminium fabrication, performing sheet and plate assembly, reading and interpreting technical drawings, cleaning and preparing metal materials, using hand tools, power tools, machinery and heat treatments to cut, bend, shape and align metal parts, joining metals using various welding techniques, checking welds meet class/survey standards and adhering to safe work practices.

To succeed in this position, you must possess the following key skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of fabrication experience
  • Familiarity with both TIG & MIG welding processes
  • Broad aluminium product knowledge
  • Experience in boat building
  • High attention to detail
  • Reliability and enthusiasm with strong work ethics
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities

About the Role

This Aluminium Fabricator role is responsible for fabricating aluminium components, assembling sheets and plates, reading and interpreting technical drawings, cleaning and preparing metal materials, using hand tools, power tools, machinery and heat treatments to cut, bend, shape and align metal parts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate aluminium components to meet high-quality standards
  • Assemble sheets and plates to meet technical specifications
  • Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication
  • Clean and prepare metal materials to ensure optimal working conditions
  • Use hand tools, power tools, machinery and heat treatments to cut, bend, shape and align metal parts
  • Join metals using various welding techniques to ensure strong and durable joints
  • Check welds meet class/survey standards to ensure quality and safety
  • Achieve all tasks while adhering to safe work practices
