About Us

We are a leading centre of excellence in evaluation, dedicated to promoting the highest standards of practice and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

The Evaluation Leadership, Policy and Capability Unit is responsible for driving this vision forward, working closely with agencies to develop their evaluation capabilities and promote effective decision-making.

This unit plays a critical role in supporting the Commonwealth Evaluation Policy, providing leadership on evaluation through presentations, speeches, and events.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing strategies to build evaluation capability across the sector.
  • Designing and delivering targeted training initiatives to upskill evaluation professionals.
  • Coordinating with agencies to strengthen monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks.

In addition, we support the Centre to provide leadership on evaluation through various channels, as well as establishing new arrangements for coordination and leadership across APS evaluation units.
