The Role

The Senior Manager – Partnerships will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing strategies for our Partnerships. This position encompasses overseeing partner sales performance, managing contractual obligations, ensuring service quality, and cultivating relationships. Furthermore, the Senior Manager will report to the General Manager of Partner Performance and will lead the Qantas Insurance Partnership for Motor and Home Insurance, focusing on contract management, service quality, relationship management, change implementation, and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily performance and engagement with Qantas Insurance.
  • Encourage a culture that fosters a highly engaged, high-performance team.
  • Manage contractual obligations and ensure alignment with relevant risk and control frameworks.
  • Maintain robust long-term relationships with partners.
  • Navigate competing priorities and risks associated with Qantas Insurance.
  • Supervise compliance and governance frameworks related to the Qantas Insurance Partnership.
  • Assist with audits and manage governance frameworks.
  • Drive the growth of the Qantas Partnership.
  • Address partner-related complaints and incidents in accordance with established management frameworks.
  • Report on program compliance and enhance processes.
  • Collaborate with the GM of Partner Performance to align priorities.
  • Translate strategic goals into operational plans for the Qantas Insurance Partnership.
  • Support the development and growth of the Qantas Insurance Partner Manager.
  • Conduct commercial and financial analysis and negotiations to facilitate mutually beneficial outcomes for the Partnership.
  • Additionally, the Senior Manager of Partnerships will be responsible for overseeing the performance of smaller referral partnerships.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in leading teams, both directly and indirectly, to drive results through effective leadership. You will demonstrate proficiency in design thinking, process engineering, and problem-solving through structured methodologies. Experience in managing and collaborating with cross-functional teams and navigating organizational changes at all levels is essential.

Experience in designing and implementing continuous improvement frameworks within multi-departmental organizations is crucial. You will possess strong skills in building trust, managing team dynamics, and motivating individuals. Proven ability to coach, lead, engage, and develop small teams while fostering a high-performance culture is required.

Additional qualifications include:

  • A formal qualification in a relevant field, such as a Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or Accounting.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in partner account management.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success in onboarding, managing, and expanding partnerships.
  • A proven track record of leading teams to achieve results.
  • Expertise in design thinking, process engineering, and structured problem-solving.
  • Practical experience in managing cross-functional teams and implementing organizational changes.
  • Experience in developing and executing continuous improvement frameworks in multi-departmental settings.
  • Strong capabilities in building trust, managing team dynamics, and motivating individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coach, lead, engage, and develop small teams to cultivate a high-performance culture.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry.
