Job Title: Medical Imaging Specialist

This is a challenging opportunity for a medical imaging specialist to join our team. As a sonographer, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations with a focus on accuracy and patient comfort.

  • Conduct ultrasound examinations with attention to detail and precision.
  • Support medical staff with timely diagnostic reporting for routine and emergency cases.
  • Provide mentorship and training for trainee sonographers.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on ultrasound equipment.
  • Manage imaging workflows, including RIS and PACS documentation.
  • Develop and implement clinical protocols to improve patient care and outcomes.
  • Maintain a clean, well-stocked work environment and report equipment issues promptly.
  • Stay current with advancements in ultrasound techniques and technology.
Responsibilities:

As a medical imaging specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing daily patient workload as a competent and reliable sonographer.
  • Managing throughput, patient scheduling, and training of sonographers and student sonographers within a quality framework.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop effective solutions across clinical situations.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a degree in Applied Science in Medical Radiation Science (Radiography or Nuclear Medicine) or equivalent.
  • Be currently registered with Australian Health Professionals Regulation Authority (AHPRA) as a Radiographer or Nuclear Medicine Scientist and hold a current NSW EPA Radiation license.
  • Have postgraduate qualification in Medical Sonography with valid ultrasound accreditation from ASAR.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills in a patient environment and proven report-writing skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and achieve outcomes.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective solutions across clinical situations.
  • Application of professional and ethical boundaries when working with complex situations as part of a multidisciplinary team.
