Medical Nursing Position

Mater Private Hospital Townsville seeks experienced Registered Nurses for its Medical unit. Successful applicants will secure permanent part-time employment working 0.6-0.8, contributing to a rotating roster including mornings, afternoons, and nights.

The Medical Unit provides a range of opportunities to care for patients with specialized needs, including rehabilitation, oncology, hematology, and general medicine.

  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments of patients using a structured approach.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions within the scope of practice.
  • Act as patient advocates, ensuring informed consent before procedures.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe environment that promotes personal integrity.
  • Adhere to Infection Control policies and practices.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions).
  • Minimum 1 post-grad experience in an acute medical setting.
  • High-level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination, and time management.
  • Ability to contribute effectively in a busy multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate patient care and competency in clinical problem-solving.
  • Availability to work across all shifts.
  • Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communications and the ability to maintain accurate clinical and assessment data.
