Occupational Therapist Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to cover a Maternity Leave position in our hospital. This is a great opportunity to work with a supportive management team and collaborate with our multidisciplinary Allied Health team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and treat patients to facilitate independence in daily living activities and quality of life.
  • Develop and implement discharge plans, including home visits, provision of aids/modifications, and referrals to other community services as required.
  • Refer patients to groups or other disciplines within the hospital.
  • Communicate with program coordinators regarding funding/length of stay issues and outpatient therapy referrals.
  • Liaise with other team members regarding patient care and therapy time tabling.
  • Document OT intervention, assistive device/home modification prescription, and completion of case management plans and discharge summaries.

Selection Criteria:

  • Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Full registration with the relevant health practitioner agency.
  • Neurological rehabilitation experience preferred.
  • Sound clinical judgement and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication, along with exceptional customer service skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Superior time management and organisational skills.
