We are seeking a skilled instrumental music teacher to provide high-quality lessons to primary school-aged students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach instrumental music to students
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans
  • Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members

This is a part-time role working 5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will be responsible for transporting electronic keyboards to/from school each day. A stipend will be provided for setup/takedown time before/after classes.

You will have opportunities to cover for other teachers while they are away or ill, and may also take on additional classes at other schools as needed.

We use the Bastien Piano Basics series of books (Primer, Level 1, 2, 3, 4) in our teaching program.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A high level of proficiency in instrumental music
  • Ability to teach primary school aged students
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules at short notice
  • Proven time management skills
  • Own transport
  • Enthusiasm and passion for teaching
  • Capacity to develop strong relationships with staff members and students
