About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Team Leader to join our East Coast Australia team. As a key member of our GIS practice, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a small team of GIS specialists, executing GIS projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS solutions into broader organizational workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of GIS specialists
  • Execute GIS projects, including technical and non-technical aspects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS solutions
  • Provide technical support to the GIS team and broader business
  • Liaise with internal and external subject matter experts
  • Participate in core spatial tasks, such as cartographic figure production, spatial database management, and ad-hoc GIS support
  • Ensure allocated projects and proposals are planned, programmed, and managed to meet or exceed client expectations
  • Develop and create GIS solutions to aid stakeholders, clients, and users in understanding geospatial information
  • Initiate and manage geospatial business development opportunities and establish strong relationships with clients
  • Coordinate resource and technical development requirements with Practice Leaders and other Team Leaders
  • Lead and/or review proposals for pricing, approach, and methodology
Requirements
  • Qualification in GIS, Geology, Geography, Geomatics, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 7 years' experience working in GIS, preferably in consultancy
  • Experience working with GIS platforms, ESRI software suite, and ArcGIS Desktop, Portal for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Online
  • Experience creating online tools using ArcGIS Online Essential Apps and Field Apps
  • FME and visual programming fundamentals for data manipulation are desirable
  • Passion for learning and developing new skills
  • Interest in troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
