Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in enhancing operational efficiency, driving innovation, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality. You will be responsible for developing and reviewing functional statements, organisational charts, and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units.

You will establish work measurement programs and analyse work samples to develop standards for labour utilisation. Additionally, you will design mechanical equipment, machines, components, and products for manufacture, as well as plant and systems for construction.

  • Developing specifications for manufacture, determining materials, equipment, piping, material flows, capacities, and layout of plant construction and systems.
  • Organising and managing project labour and coordinating the delivery of materials, plant, and equipment.
  • Establishing standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection, and maintenance in accordance with engineering principles and safety regulations.

Other key responsibilities include carrying out inspections to ensure optimum performance is maintained and directing maintenance activities and coordinating requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules.
