Deputy Director Aboriginal Economic Development
About the Role:The Deputy Director, Aboriginal Economic Development is responsible for supporting the Director Economic Development Network (EDN) in delivering Departmental priorities and strategies that enhance economic outcomes for Aboriginal people, communities, and businesses.
- Possesses a deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and history.
- Has strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams to identify, develop, and deliver initiatives and projects aimed at supporting the establishment and growth of Aboriginal businesses.
Leads a team to design and implement innovative approaches to improve economic self-determination.
- Develops and delivers expert advice, reports, and briefs to senior leaders to inform strategic decisions.
- Cultivates effective relationships with analysts, service providers, and Aboriginal stakeholders to shape new policies and programs.

- Proven experience in leading teams to drive economic development initiatives and projects.
- A strong track record of promoting new, strength-based approaches to Aboriginal empowerment.
- Excellent ability to build partnerships with regional stakeholders, government agencies, the private sector, and Aboriginal organisations to inform policy and improve economic outcomes.
