AusNet Services Ltd is seeking a Senior Deal Execution Manager to lead commercial negotiations and deal execution for our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects across Victoria and NSW.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the suite of contracts during the development phase to financial close, providing input into project development and identifying key contractual risks.
  • Lead negotiations with customers, BESS OEM providers, contractors, and other suppliers to optimise project-wide value and mitigate risks.
  • Identify residual commercial risks and develop approaches to mitigate them, seeking input from relevant stakeholders to manage overall commercial risk to the portfolio.
  • Lead the negotiation of and finalise peripheral contracts during the development phase of projects.
  • Prepare investment business cases for executive and board review.
Requirements:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in legal, finance, commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in commercial negotiations, particularly in large infrastructure, renewable energy, or energy storage programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, including executives.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a knack for identifying risks and issues and proactively addressing them.
  • Detailed understanding of contracts as part of the overall deal process.
