Classroom Teacher Role

The primary focus of the classroom teacher is on planning, preparation, and teaching programs to achieve specific student outcomes.

They engage in critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and skills to effectively engage students and improve their learning.

Responsibilities include direct teaching of groups of students and individual students, contributing to curriculum area or other curriculum program, participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, and undertaking non-teaching supervisory duties.

The classroom teacher will have the opportunity to develop their expertise and take on more responsibility within the school program.

They will work closely with colleagues to plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that cater to the needs of all students.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Collaboration and a commitment to ongoing professional development are also key aspects of this position.

As an experienced teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of your students and contribute to the success of our school community.

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for teaching and learning, as well as excellent organizational and time management skills.

They will be able to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

A bachelor's degree in education or a related field is required, as well as current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

Demonstrated experience in the curriculum area specified for the position is highly desirable.
