Key Responsibilities- Provide Daily Care and Support: Meet the daily care needs of children and young people, including personal hygiene, health and well-being, medical, transportation, recreational, and educational support.
- Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment: Contribute to and maintain a quality care environment that is safe, clean, and personalized to the needs of each child or young person.
- Document and Record Keeping: Accurately document events and developments related to the day-to-day provision of care on the child or young person's journey with us.
- NDIS Plan Support: Ensure children and young people's NDIS plans are accessible while in our care.
- Trauma-Informed Practices: Utilize trauma-informed practices and supports in day-to-day care provision for children and young people.
- Positive Behavior Support: Provide positive behavior support, therapeutic interventions, and safety to children and young people who may experience events of escalation and crisis.
- Social Engagement and Recreation: Encourage and facilitate opportunities for social engagement, recreation, and community involvement.
- Collaboration and Planning: Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualized support plans.
- Advocacy and Support: Advocate for the rights and needs of children and young people, and support them in developing essential life skills, including education, vocational training, and independent living skills.
- Cultural and Community Connection: Promote and support positive relationships and connections for children and young people with family, culture, and community.
- Developmental and Life Milestones: Help children and young people reach developmental and life milestones towards a healthy, happy, and thriving life.
We are looking for care team members who have a demonstrated passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support. Experienced in offering support to individuals with disabilities and complex support needs, helping them lead fulfilling lives and promoting their independence.
You'll understand the importance of trauma-informed care, consistency, and stability in the lives of children and young people. Adapting responses and utilizing a broad range of support strategies. Be committed to meticulous documentation and reporting with a deep commitment to the safeguarding of vulnerable children and young people.
You should have availability to suit a rotating roster that includes mornings, afternoons, weekends, and overnights.
