Timber Mill Operator

About the Position:

We are seeking a Timber Mill Operator to join our team on a Casual basis.

The successful candidate will be involved in end-to-end production, playing a key part in producing high-quality timber products across different equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting in the production of high-quality timber products.
  • Operating various fix plant machinery including circular and band saws, automatic stacking equipment, gas fired kilns, moulders & robotic packaging lines.
  • Assisting with grading our products, identifying defects and accurately sawing and measuring.
  • Moving, sorting and strapping timber to process for shipping and delivery.
  • General labouring and timber mill duties ensuring the work area is clean and free of debris on an ongoing basis.
  • Inventory management to ensure a smooth production line with no delays or issues.
  • Maintaining a constant focus on health & safety across all areas of our site.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in machine operating, labouring, manual handling or in a production environment.
  • A positive attitude at work, being reliable and punctual.
  • A strong commitment to safety.
  • Knowledge of the timber industry.
  • Physical fitness to manually handle various sizes of timber product.
  • The ability to work effectively within a team environment and produce work to a high standard.
