Graduate Planning Role

We seek a motivated recent graduate in Town Planning to apply their knowledge in a practical setting and build foundational skills.

About the Opportunity

This role offers an excellent chance for a Graduate Town Planner to join our Development Systems team at the City of Canterbury Bankstown and contribute to delivering efficient development services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide planning and development information through our Duty Planner service.
  • Prepare assessment reports and determinations on development applications and subdivision certificates.
  • Undertake site inspections and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholder feedback on development matters.
  • Respond to enquiries at the customer service counter, via email, and by phone.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning (or nearing completion).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of relevant Acts, statutory planning processes, and customer service delivery.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and professionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Class C Driver's Licence.
