Role Summary

Salt Recruitment is seeking a skilled IT Infrastructure Solutions Architect to support the project teams across architectural design, analysis, and governance towards delivering successful implementation of fit-for-purpose and strategically aligned solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Architecture: Design various architectural layers for targeted programs, with an emphasis on Infrastructure Architecture.
  • Architecture Governance: Engage in architecture governance and working group meetings to gain approval for solutions, standards, and design patterns.
  • Business Cases and Proposals: Contribute to the development of business cases and request for proposals.
  • Enterprise Repository: Update and maintain the Enterprise Repository with architecture revisions.
  • Project Support: Assist projects by identifying and managing risks and issues early in the process.
  • Application and Infrastructure Services: Support the planning, implementation, and migration of applications and infrastructure services.
  • Architectural Governance: Oversee architectural governance throughout the design, construction, and operational phases.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide direction to technical teams to ensure detailed designs adhere to the target architecture, standards, and patterns.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:



  • Architecture Experience: Experience completing and delivering Conceptual and Solution Architecture documents.
  • Infrastructure Architecture: Demonstrable experience developing infrastructure architecture in large, complex, and critical IT environments.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Demonstrable experience with on-premise and public cloud (Azure mandatory) infrastructure design, from initial concept to implementation.
  • Integration Technologies: Demonstrable experience designing solutions for integration technologies such as ESB, API Management, API Query / Inquiry Service, Websocket, Message Queue, Data Store, Logging, Archiving and Gateway software.
  • Virtualisation and Containerisation: Sound understanding of virtualisation technologies such as VMware, and Kubernetes containerisation.
  • Network Technologies: Knowledge and or experience with network technologies, such as Palo Alto firewalls, Load Balancers / Ingress Controllers such as F5, AVI, NGINX, and routing.
  • Communication and Influencing: Ability to present and communicate both business and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Business and Technical Acumen: Strong influencing skills with business and technical groups with ability to build networks across multiple stake holder groups.
  • Domain Knowledge: Demonstrated technology skills across multiple IT domains (application, security, infrastructure, and networks).

Education and Certifications

A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field is required. Additionally, IT Architecture certification such as TOGAF and SABSA, and Microsoft Azure certification are highly desirable.
