Job Title: Assistant Principal-Range 2

This position involves leading a significant area or function within the school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the middle years sub-school, providing guidance and support to staff members as needed.
  • Lead the college SIT Team in disability inclusion initiatives, ensuring that all students have equal access to opportunities.
  • Develop and implement curriculum policies relevant to the sub-school, promoting academic excellence and achievement.
  • Build the capacity of teachers working within the sub-school, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide high-quality instruction.
  • Implement effective emergency management processes, ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff.
  • Provide leadership and support to sub-school leading teachers, learning community leaders, and classroom teachers for complex student management and learning matters.
  • Collaborate with the Student Wellbeing Team to develop and implement programs and supports that meet the needs of students in their respective sub-schools.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach, supporting vulnerable at-risk students through School-based and external programs.

The ideal candidate will possess outstanding educational leadership skills, including visionary and exemplary leadership, highly developed skills in learning and managing change, and a clear capacity to motivate staff and develop their talents.

They should also have a strong commitment to the use of learning technologies to improve teaching and learning, and a demonstrated ability to implement departmental policies to a high level.
