We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Research Specialist to join our team at RMIT University.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $85,000 - $95,000 per annum, plus 17% superannuation and flexible working arrangements. Based at our Melbourne CBD campus, you may be required to work or be based at other campuses of the University.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity will enable you to contribute to shaping the future of clean energy solutions by working on ground-breaking projects in advanced functional materials for renewable energy applications. You will have the chance to collaborate with our renowned researchers, who attract funding from government and industry sources.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • You must possess a qualification in a relevant discipline area, such as materials science, chemistry, physics, nanotechnology, or relevant engineering. A PhD degree is mandatory.
  • You should have extensive research experience in solar thermal technology, graphene, sensors, laser fabrication, nanophotonic design, electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, piezocatalysis, next-generation batteries, and supercapacitors.
  • Evidence of research output, including publications, conference contributions, and/or technical reports, is essential.
  • You must demonstrate your ability to generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to work autonomously and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities.
