The ideal candidate will have a trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent, with strong safety awareness and technical ability to read engineering drawings. They will also possess excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

About the Role:

  • Repair and maintain industrial gearboxes and mechanical drives
  • Conduct repairs using precision measurements and vibration testing
  • Strip, clean, inspect, and identify root causes of mechanical failures
  • Participate in learning and development opportunities to enhance technical knowledge and skills

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Overhaul and repair all types and makes of gearbox and mechanical drives
  2. Able to conduct repairs using precision measurements and conduct vibration testing
  3. Strip, clean, inspect, and identify root causes of mechanical failures and equipment issues
  4. Perform repairs and reassemble equipment to restore them to peak operational performance
  5. Participate in learning and development opportunities, including OEM training

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications:

  • Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent
  • Strong safety awareness with a thorough understanding of workplace safety standards and compliance
  • Technical ability to read engineering drawings and use precise workshop measuring equipment effectively
  • Proven ability to manage workload with a results-driven attitude
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes
  • Reliable, dedicated, and a strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Experience working with renewable energy systems/industrial power transmissions
  • A great team player, willing to share knowledge and mentor emerging talent
  • Experience with gearbox testing and diagnostic tools
  • High-risk work licenses (FLT, Dogging, Rigging)
